Davy Jones to Montone for the Umbria Film Festival

Posted in Johnny Depp by Anna Maria Polidori on July 9, 2017

It is wonderful everytime to attend the Umbria Film Festival.

Yesterday night although it was dramatically warm no exception. Watching the movies of the Umbria Film Festival is a beautiful experience.
I attended various editions in the past in part as member of the press for Il Corriere and sometimes just as spectator.
Yesterday night the key of the town presented to Bill Nighy.
Love Actually, Pirates 2 and 3. I watched the picture of this actor on Google and I thought: “Who was in Love Actually?” The American President? I saw the movie two times, I adore Hugh Grant, but…I couldn’t locate his face. And what kind of role played in Pirates?
I googled the net: bloody hell, Davy Jones? Oh God, we are close to the Olympus I thought.

The funny rock-star of Love Actually? Bingo! So hilarious! I remember a line. When they asked him why it is beauty to become famous he said: “Because they present you every drug for free.” I remember his eccentricities. A character I loved a lot in that movie.

I decided to bring with me my mom.
I don’t know but I think that it is great to let her know which is in part my world, the one I dedicate some time of my existence, since I met online some people connected with Johnny Depp and other actors as well and who these people and actors are.

Mom really enjoyed to follow me, curious to seeing the star and other people ad well. I also added her: “Don’t worry mom we will find some fresh weather at Montone.”

It was the opposite: terribly warm, when we arrived we ate an ice-cream that was our dinner, but in terms of calories, eating an ice-cream means to eat a dish of pasta, so it’s more than OK and plus it’s refreshing.

We found a place in the last line and waited for the arrival of the actor.

I noticed a colleague from Gubbio with which I talked at long. He works for RAI TRE and it is great to seeing him and some other faces I know, like most of the ladies I know because they are part of the committee of Books of Dogs.

In the while we met the responsible of the press for the Umbria Film Festival. She asked us which were the press and TV stations we worked for, thanking us because she saw some articles published in our newsmagazine these past days.

I asked if it was possible to take a picture with the actor asking him some questions as well. “You know I have a blog dedicated to Johnny Depp, it would be nice a pic with Davy Jones.”
Her answer was that only the editors of newsmagazines and magazines could stay close to the actor for asking some questions. For the rest he was a bit armored she told us. Theoretically I am the editor of my blog, but I understand that a magazine and newsmagazine is something different and I thought at my poor career as reporter. “Anna Maria no negative thoughts, this time be less shy, less sad and more courageous! It’s your world this one.”

Well it was a sort of Fantozzian’s story at first. I saw immediately the entrance of Mr Nighy and I decided to start to taking some pictures and I marched in his direction secure of myself. For once. When I was close to the actor ready with my Amazon Fire to take pictures, the disappearance of the actor. I felt a great nervous! But is it possible? At my arrival people evaporate.

I haven’t considered that he could be sat somewhere in the tables close to the big screen, I thought that they decided to keep him behind one of the opened doors of the palace, for the big entrance.

But I was wrong.

He was peacefully sat in one of the tables close to the big screen of the Square Fortebraccio, waiting again for being called for the prize.

He was so funny, but British humor is the best one in the world. He started to saying us that with this key during the night he would have started to asking to the citizens of Montone for some food and drink.

Later he also revealed us that his first flame was from Umbria. I wouldn’t be surprised. Colin Firth married a lady from Umbertide.
But no: it wasn’t true. He told us this one was the first time for him in Umbria and he really enjoyed , he told us to staying here.
Very tall, thin, the first idea is that he is an intellectual guy, and I guess a very funny man.

I took a video I just hope to post at some point one of these next weeks, and pictures that I must download yet.

Enjoy in the time this tale!

Johnny Depp and the diplomatic case with the White House

Posted in Uncategorized by Anna Maria Polidori on June 26, 2017

Johnny Depp created a little diplomatic crisis after the phrases he expressed in Glastonsbury, UK during a festival.
He was there because of his sexy movie The Libertine played years ago and he expressed these thoughts: ‘”When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?’” specifically talking about Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes adding: ‘”I want to qualify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living. However, it has been awhile and maybe it is time.’”

A strong position after these declarations taken by the White House with spokesman Sean Spicer: “President Trump has condemned violence in all forms and it’s sad that others like Johnny Depp have not followed his lead. I hope that some of Mr. Depp’s colleagues will speak out against this type of rhetoric as strongly as they would if his comments were directed to a Democrat elected official.”

“The lack of outrage” regarding Johnny Depp’s comment “A little troubling” added the spokesman.

At the same time at the Washington Post, Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the President, said that this joke is “No laughing matter.”

“These things are real”, Conway thinks.
Depp’s words could: “Easily inflame lunatics who wish to bring harm.”

The Secret Services of the President: “For security reasons, we cannot discuss specifically nor in general terms the means and methods of how we perform our protective responsibilities.”

In the while Johnny Depp in a statement replied: “I apologize for the bad joke I attempted last night in poor taste about President Trump. It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone.’’

Johnny Depp knew that these words would have circulated and he added I am sure with mucho gusto: “By the way, this is going to be in the press. It will be horrible.”

Johnny, Trump, Lincoln and Kennedy!

Posted in Johnny Depp by Anna Maria Polidori on June 23, 2017

Dear Johnny,
I know what you think at the moment: that Donald Trump is not maybe the best President of the world (I am a  reporter but I don’t write for a big newsmagazine, pass me these diplomatic considerations) but I jumped when I read what you said in a news read in the Boston Globe.

Yesterday you were at Glastonbury. You asked when was the last time that a President assassinated adding: “I want to qualify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living. However, it has been awhile and maybe it is time.” You talked of Lincoln and John Wilkes.

I thought: “Oh bloody hell now we don’t have just ISIS asking for fanatics people to commit suicide-homicides, we have also our Johnny saying that?”

Lincoln….He was killed who knows why by John Wilkes in 1865. An actor of your same importance and fame. No more nor less. Was there any sense for that act? Why black people hadn’t to be free?  Why these people had to be slavers of someone else because of their skin color? Why?
Why killing a man who had just started a process of largest democratization?

Lincoln was a wonderful man to me. His life was hard. He was a common man with great values, and living in real life helped.

It was Kennedy. John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The last one killed.
You know well this.
I always see that imagines and I can’t find peace.

When I was little I had this little encyclopedia called 15 and there was this picture of this flame in one of that books. It was the grave of this man, called John Kennedy, a President of the USA and there was written that this light is always “lighted.” For remembering someone unforgettable. I returned often to see this picture.
I didn’t know at 6-7 years who Kennedy was and his role played in this world but I remembered that grave and that light.

Dallas 11/22/1963, a first shot, a second, with the third a part of brain of President Kennedy flies away from him and Mrs Kennedy run away from that terror. Better: she tries to.
A homicide without a killer.
I tried to download the autopsy of the President and his brother Robert time ago but then I gave up. It’s…hard. You feel that sensation of death and you think: OK let’s wait. I am emphatic.

I know, I know that you were joking about Trump, but…

It’s just that the situation is pretty heavy and substantially I wouldn’t want the departure of anyone, including President Trump.
He is a business man but yes maybe he is not able to be the proper President that the USA deserves.
And substantially it’s not a failure to  admit it.
Absolutely. I have always thought that this role is for someone able of great diplomacy and not for everyone. It’s important to staying connected with people and the base, to “reading” the necessity of real people, and to seeing also the world in its evolution.

I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, Johnny but what I would want is to return in the past, when the Twin Towers still existed, NYC was famous because of the romantic movies by Nora Ephron,  and not because of this act of terror: I dream a world of peace, and I dream the past, when the world was less difficult, and when there was hope for tomorrow. Since that 9/11 this one is my principal thought: the terror.

Life is becoming fatalism and I hate it. I don’t love to think that we are in the hands of terror.

People should return to be all more ethical and maybe the world would be a better world.

Ciao Johnny I read in the Washington Post and Hollywood Reporter that you apologized.

I apologize for the bad joke I attempted last night in poor taste about President Trump. It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone.

Big hugs and much love

Very happy that this time Rotten Tomatoes didn’t win!

Posted in Johnny Depp by Anna Maria Polidori on June 3, 2017

OK: The Inquisitr arrived before but I thought to realize a piece remarking this the day after Pirates was launched: that for once Pirates defeated Rotten Tomatoes and the sum of negative critics (many good as well) expressed by many critics of big and small newsmagazines and realities in the entire territory of the USA.

Box office and Rotten Tomatoes became my biggest friends or enemies these latest years and every time a Johnny Depp’s movie out.

This time viewers didn’t listen anything or anyone.
They just went to the cinema for enjoying a moment of escapism and only God knows the necessity of some de-stressing moments considering the times we are living in.

More important has been the card played by Jerry Bruckheimer a real test on the viewers according to my point of view: “Without Johnny Depp no other Pirates will be realized!”
Producer Bruckheimer maybe said that words in fact also for trying to see if the solid base of Johnny’s fans and Pirates fans were still there waiting for him.

People trusted Johnny Depp and they went to the cinema, free again to adore their Jack Sparrow.

Fans never abandoned the saga, never abandoned their favorite characters, never abandoned the ideas of wild adventures with Jack Sparrow, the more educated William Turner, Captain Barbossa and the new entry: Captain Salazar.

Do you know why? Because dreams are priceless.

BRAVI BRAVI BRAVI! You all deserved it!

Posted in Johnny Depp, movies, Pirates 5 Dead men tell no tales by Anna Maria Polidori on May 31, 2017

I knew that!
That luck was back, negativity over, hardest phase deleted by a fresh wind.
I knew that a new start was going on and I am truly happy for all the team of Pirates 5! starting from producer Jerry Bruckheimer a real man plenty of gratitude and good old values able to make the difference in this world, directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg screenwriters Jeff Nathanson, Terry Rossio,
Ted Elliott , Terry Rossio, Stuart Beattie, and Jay Wolpert, actors Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario and all the rest of the wonderful workers behind the scenes who worked for creating Pirates 5 Dead Men Tell no Tales. What a prophetic title…

This Pirates will pass at History as the 12th movie with the biggest opening, it will pass at History because there was a lot of turmoil on set, but also thanks to this, determination stronger for working hard and for creating a wonderful movie.

I know very well that when a creative process is suffered, then there is success, happiness.

Viewers understood problems, and turmoils and a difficult human phase and at the same time they missed Captain Sparrow from a long time like also all the rest of the protagonists. For all these reasons no one could lose the opportunity to going to the cinema for seeing it.

This one is a great result because this great team have always believed that although all the adversities, it could have been more than possible not just to reach this goal but to return winners with a great Pirates.

Pirates will always be the most loved Disney’s franchise and I strongly doubt that Johnny Depp can retire too soon from his role of Jack Sparrow like also I wish to seeing back again also all the rest of the historical cast of Pirates for other adventures!

Bloody hell, congratulations to everyone! again!

Bruckheimer an old-fashioned man with real values in his heart

Posted in Johnny Depp, movies by Anna Maria Polidori on May 26, 2017

Jerry Bruckheimer and his gratitude and friendship with Johnny Depp

Jerry Bruckheimer to me is one of the most grateful men existing in the face of this Earth.
His respect and consideration for Johnny Depp considering the role Depp has played during these many years of collaboration with Disney, an iconic brand for children and teenagers is endless.

Johnny Depp thanks to his personal visionary world created great iconic movies like The Corpse Bride, Alice in Wonderland and sequel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Today the producer specified something: without Johnny Depp Pirates, an eventual Pirates 6 wouldn’t be created.

It’s a story of gratitude and great friendship the one between these two men and creatives.

At DigitalSpy Bruckheimer specified: “The secret to any successful franchise is picking talented people, and Johnny is absolutely key to the success of Pirates.” He also added: “Jack Sparrow is still the same guy he was in the first one. He’s still out to get what’s good for him…” About Johnny Depp he added: “We’ve worked together on six movies now and he’s just an amazing individual.”

But…Which is the philosophy of movie-making for Bruckheimer? He said: “You have a kitchen in your house, right? But you still go out to eat… If something drags you out of the house it’s usually good food. We have to make really, really good movies to make people stay away from their televisions. And that’s exactly what we do.”

So, what we hope is that Pirates 5 will be a great success and that the final choice of Johnny will be the one to continuing to play this iconic role so loved by children and people all over the world and one of the most entertaining characters ever created in the history of cinema.

Good Luck Pirates! I am very happy that you are back!

At first the villain was a woman?

Posted in Johnny Depp, movies, Orlando Bloom, Pirates 5 Dead men tell no tales by Anna Maria Polidori on May 21, 2017

Terry Rossio reveals what happened with this first script of Pirates 5

It’s interesting: lately websites launched the news that one of the historic screenwriters of Pirates, Terry Rossio said recently that at first he imagined for Jack Sparrow a woman as a villain, following maybe the scheme of Angelica and Jack in Pirates 4. Angelica was Penelope Cruz the wife of Javier Bardem, Captain Salazar.

Terry Rossio with Ted Elliott signed the first three installments of Pirates.
The fourth one, written by Terry Rossio.

The same Terry Rossio left alone the Fifth installment of Pirates.
Ted Elliott later involved in the realization of the fifth installment.

Why this?

At first was written a first script by Terry Rossio, a first Pirates 5, but the main villain was a woman and Johnny Depp when read it rejected the idea, thinking that it was too redundant considering also Dark Shadows.

For sure we can just wish to seeing back soon again also Terry Rossio for the realization of Pirates 6! We miss seeing him around!
