Joe Perry promotes his book written with David Ritz: “Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith”. The biography contains a stunning foreword written by Johnny Depp

It’s a new memoir written by one of the most known guitarists of the world member of the band The Aerosmith from Boston, Massachusetts: Joe Perry.

45 years of career with the band of The Aerosmith, this immense guitarist, felt at some point of his life the urgency of telling in a book his life.

Written with a veteran music biographer like David Ritz is, this one “Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith”  Rocks_ My life in and out of Aerosmithis a touching book.

The musician joeperry_Boston Globe pic in fact will tell a lot about himself. All his private and public life. His troubles, his success, his failures, his music, his band.

But…With a personal touch.

Before to writing this book Joe Perry tylerperry 1973 Boston Globe Pic in fact, confessed to the Boston Globe, read something like 40 biographies of other musicians and actors, and famous people in general just for trying to understand, well ok, what to write of himself.

He added 17aerosmith_photos01-001_ Boston Globe Picture to the Globe: “I was overwhelmed by the sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll story being retold and retold with not a lot of depth behind it. Not that I wanted to write that kind of book anyway, but it just reinforced my feelings about the story I wanted to tell.”

It had to be a good book. From a Bostonian I am not surprised of it. Quality is very important and a priority.

Various appearances are planned to Boston for spreading the news of the appearance of the book launched this past Tuesday  october 6th.

A lot of anecdotes, one of the biggest hits “Walk This Way” was born thanks to a stolen guitar.

Perry reveals to the Boston Globe his idea of life, talking about this particular episode: “That’s why when people say: What would be the thing you’d change? or the question that goes parallel to that: What kind of advice would you give to somebody? You can’t really change anything, because you never know what lies in store. Because if you changed one thing, that meant you’d be thinking a different way, and maybe that wouldn’t have served other decisions. You’ve got to look back at it and say: I had to make those mistakes to get to here“.

This book will tell the life of an extraordinary musician and with a philosophic tract particularly well focused by Johnny Depp NassauJune2005039 one of Joe Perry’s best friend in his foreword to the book: “In the time of your life, live —so that in that wondrous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it.”—
