The launch of the book imminent

Jonathan Shaw will launch his book this tuesday 24th march. It is called:

Narcisa – Our Lady of Ashes,

Harper Collins, and on Friday, At La Luz de Jesus Gallery March 27th, 8-11pm Johnny Depp 44537016_l

and Harper Perennial will present: Jonathan Shaw reading from the classic novel Narcisa. The meeting moderated by author Dan Fante.

Who is Jonathan Shaw?
An old friend of Johnny Depp as we will see later in an interview released by Shaw these past days for the launch of the book.

Shaw is the son of legendary jazzist Artie Shaw and Hollywood starlet Doris Downling. He loves travelling and he is a world-travelling outlaw artist but also a journalist, novelist, blogger, philosopher. He lives in Rio de Janeiro, New York and Hollywood.

Narcisa, his latest book, 624 pages is the story, chronicles of a great addiction between two people. During their relationship they will try darkness, depravity. The story is set up in Rio De Janeiro and New York City.
Sex, drugs, a destructive love.

The poet Ignacio Valencia Lobos knows all: he knows that if his relationship with Narcisa will continue he will be destroyed and devastated for the rest of his life, but he can’t stop this addiction he feels for her. A sort of drug. Narcisa is a prostitute and an avid crack-smoking. There is a lot of insanity in this love-story and both the protagonists know that.

Shaw wanted to re-create the same atmosphere by Charles Bukowski, Henry Miller, William S. Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, Irvine Welsh,  Hunter S. Thompson.

Marylin Manson said this story is a “Fearless storytelling” while Iggy Pop declared: “Jonathan Shaw is the great nightmare anti-hero of the new age“. Jim Jarmusch  added: “Shaw’s writing is one hell of a wild ride through the bizarre netherworld of his own damaged consciousness. His experiences are real and his language and insights kinetic and brutal… Shaw’s writing certifies him as a subversive and criminal inhabitant of the world of human expression.
