Working together for discovering the real “Whitey”

Scott Cooper and some of the creatives behind the scenes of Black Mass

Scott Cooper has chosen carefully the team with which he would have worked with for the realization of Black Mass.

The first one casting director Francine Maisler. Scott told recently that: “When you have a large cast, it’s critical that everybody is making the same film”.

Scott said that more than create a movie about a delinquent, he wanted to “Make a film about humans who happen to be criminals”.

The main biggest work trying to capture Whitey 12074936_478962778944037_1114045519094234406_n 10305170_715174711858233_8488680009552227727_n 11181839_422107524629563_434860139454374437_n Bulger the mobster of South Boston? His character and also his physical traits. Bulger is compared at a cobra “Ready to strike”.

At the same time Johnny Depp a compassionate and good man focused on cruelty of the mobster with great reality.

Kasia Walicka-Maimone costume designer called for recreate the atmosphere of the 70s and 80s in Boston and South Boston.
Costumes were important but they had according to Cooper be implemented in the movie and the whole scenario.

Cinematographer Masanobu Takayanagi had previously worked with Cooper in “Out of the Furnace”.

The centrality of the point in this case, Takayanagi met every saturday Scott Cooper because of the movie, was to seeing on-screen the transposition of real life.

Black Mass is based on the book written by Dick url Lehr and Gerard Gerard O'Neill O’Neill investigator reporters of the Boston Globe: “Black Mass, Whitey Black Mass Book Cover new cover for Black Mass Bulger and a devil’s deal”.
