Damien Echols: a name in the past associated at a terrible murder

With other two teenager Echols  was accused in the past of being one of the murderers of a terrible homicide committed in West Memphis, Arkansas.

It was one of the most scaring and painful, complicated, horrible murder that the city has known.

The still unknown criminals (yes, it will be just a sensation but to me more than one took part at it) murdered three children of 8 years removing later portions of body from the victims.

Considering that the reputation of Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jesse MissKelley Jr. not exactly too great, plus considering that they were treated as Satanists, plus some of them with difficult stories behind, investigations started to privileging this direction.

The so-called “Three of West Memphis” were accused of these murder, and considering also the cruelty used on the three bodies of the kids, Echols condemned at the death penalty as well.

Many people of the star-system, including Johnny 10394461_298058820367768_8307873018918289062_nDepp and Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit’s director), with many other artists tried to help these teenagers during the trial supporting the cost of it. At the end Judge David Laser set them free.
They were released in 2011.

At the moment what these three free young men touch become gold.

Echols published a book and it became a bestseller. Just an example.

The Examiner in a long interview reached Echols while in Los Angeles.

A new art exhibit called SALEM will open today  in fact at the Copro Gallery.
Echols is not alone. With him David Stoupakis and Menton3 other two artists.
The trio’s name is The Hand Collective.

The Examiner talked largely with Echols.

Echols admitted that once he lived in Salem and Salem was famous for the witch trials.
Their work wants to honoring all these people who lost their lives for prejudices of various genre in a period in which being a witch meant to be born too ugly, too beauty or with some lack or some characteristics that could let think to people that they were talking with a witch.

Echols confirms to the Examiner that this one with Salem is a love affair.

Damien add that the purpose is to bring with the art exhibit not just mundanity but epiphany and realization. A moment that should be remembered by people like a dream.

Damien Echols wants also to spread the so-called Magick Revolution a campaign he started when he was brought to death row.
Echols explains that magic doesn’t mean a connection with Satan or the bad part of the world and he wants to help people through techniques and practices he learned when he was in jail to develop hope for future.

Echols fell in love for tattoos as well. Because of Johnny Depp? Nope. Not this time. Reason was simple: in jail they cut  his hair very short, and the artist added that the only part of his body intact his skin.

Will Johnny Depp stop by at this art exhibit? We will see…
