Almost famous Christopher Leps at the Almost Famous Film Festival

One of Johnny Depp’s most known stuntmen will launch his short movie to the famous film festival located in Phoenix, Arizona

 

He is the other face of Jack Sparrow: Christopher Leps. One, precisely, of Jack Sparrow’s stuntmen in Pirates of the Caribbean.

 

Christopher grew up in Central Florida. Disney for Christopher has always been a reason of life because of a park theme created many decades ago by Disney in Orlando, Florida, Disneyworld.

For sure this man couldn’t imagine that once grown up he would have been one of the main protagonists of the scenes and part of the big History and Family of Disney incarnating Jack Sparrow in the most perilous scenes.

 

Christopher has been Jack Sparrow in the fourth movie of the saga: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Leps 42 years, although still focusing on his activity as a stunt man has recently decided of producing his own first short movie. This week he will introduce the short movie to Phoenix, Arizona, at the Almost Famous Film Festival. He will also be delighted of talking about his activity as a stunt man and filmmaking.

 

His latest short movie’s name? Stimulating one: Muse.

F.B.I.’s key for capturing Whitey in 2011: searching for Catherine Greig

It was June 20 2011. The entire F.B.I. comforted because of the end of Osama Bin Laden, the most wanted man of all the History of the Usa, was back to the old project of capturing once for all, James Joseph Whitey Bulger  and his long-term companion Catherine Grieg.

The purpose?  Launching a new massive campaign for trying to discover the most WANTED couple of all the times: Whitey Bulger and Catherine Greig. 

It was necessary to find a special “Key” for reaching and discovering Whitey Bulger as soon as possible. This Key had the name of Catherine Greig.

Catherine Greig has been until the end the long-term companion of Whitey Bulger. A very long relationship that one.

 

F.B.I. agents knew something: if some people would have seen that lady, that lady highly probable would have conducted, lead them directly to Whitey.

 

Boston  F.B.I.’s agents talked of “A unique new publicity campaign aimed at locating a Top Ten Fugitive”.

 

F.B.I. specified that of course Catherine Elizabeth Grieg, complete name of Whitey’s long-term companion wasn’t implicated in any of the crimes committed by Whitey Bulger wanted because indicted for 19 murders. In the Top Ten Fugitives since 1999 and escaped from South Boston from 1995. The fault of ms Greig was to be a federal fugitive wanted because she harbored Whitey Bulger.

Peace was ending in sunny Santa Monica,California,  for Charlie and Carol Gasko, Whitey Bulger  and Catherine Greig. The project of the F.B.I. was ambitious: “Airing on TV stations a campain around the country“.

 

The purpose of the F.B.I. was to launching pictures of Greig with her physical aspects and characteristics. The F.B.I. describes what happened when they asked to the  various States to help them. “Approximately 350 time slots in media markets in 10 states were purchased in an effort to reach a particular demographic to generate quality tips from the public“.

Richard DesLauriers, special agent in charge of the FBI of Boston added that that FBI believed that publicizing Catherine Grieg’s photo and characteristics among her contemporaries would have  lead to a tip about her whereabouts and, ultimately, to the arrest of Bulger.”

For the city and for the entire F.B.I. of Boston arresting Whitey Bulger would have been a moment of pride, considering the scandals lived inside the structure of the F.B.I. itself.

Cities chosen considering that maybe the two fugitives would have spent their time in that cities were: Albuquerque, NM; Biloxi, MS; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Ft. Myers, FL; Miami, FL; Milwaukee, WI; Mobile, AL; New Orleans, LA; Phoenix, AZ; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Tampa, FL; and Tucson, AZ.

It was a strategical choice the moment when these ads would have been displayed: during shows when female viewers watching tv were in high percentage for sure and the target of people very close to the one of Catherine Greig, Whitey Bulger’s companion:  60 years.
The hope? “A friend, co-worker, neighbor, hair stylist, manicurist, doctor or dentist might recognize Greig” F.B.I. agents specified with great hope.

F.B.I. loves to use tv and media in general because they perfectly know that the power of media can be absolutely stunning.

 

The F.B.I. said in the statement when launched this operation would have later directly brought thanks to ms Greig at Whitey Bulger: “For 100 years the FBI has known that combining the reach and power of the media with alert citizens is a successful formula for catching fugitives”. Words of Supervisory Special Agent Richard Teahan, who leaded the Boston FBI task force searching for Bulger.

What the agents of the F.B.I. were hoping was to be able to reaching a new audience, someone very different from the past. Women! And this because to the special agents, Catherine Greig had to have her own habits, characteristics and idiosyncrasies.

Another choice was the one of spreading the news in markets where of course Whitey Bulger had many contacts and maybe he still had contacts. The purpose? Finding ms. Greig for capturing the man who had terrorized South Boston during the 70s and 80s.

F.B.I. added other particular regarding ms Greg.

A very big age difference between the two. Something like 21 years of difference. So while Catherine Greig had to be in her 60s, Whitey was 81 years old in 2011.

Other characteristics known about ms Greig?

She loved dogs and every sorta of other animals.
She worked in the past as a dental hygienist so maybe she would have kept well her teeth.
She loved beauty salons.
Before to fleeing with Bulger she had had multiple plastic surgery, so the aspect of this lady had to be different one from the one kown by the same investigators.

Blue eyes, 5 feet and 6 inches tall. Names chosen as aliases Helen Marshal and Carol (she was found in fact with this name) Shapeton.

In 2002 the F.B.I. thought that the two could be in London.

Any possible informations regarding ms Greig would have been rewarded with 100.000 dollars while the one for Whitey Bulger was rewarded with 2 millions of dollars. This one was the biggest amount of money every offered for a domestic fugitive.

The publicity campaign and images of the two were put in many strategic and very important places and all the most important national networks including radio, press, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube.

 

Johnny Depp  is shooting in Boston these months as Whitey Bulger in the   in the biopic movie still unnamed but that I will call Black Mass inspired and based on the book written by the journalists and writers of the Boston Globe Gerard O’Neill and Dick Lehr: “Black Mass: Whitey Bulger, the F.B.I. and a devil’s deal”.

Sienna Miller will be Catherine Greig.
