Johnny's movies

Very happy that this time Rotten Tomatoes didn’t win!

OK: The Inquisitr arrived before but I thought to realize a piece remarking this the day after Pirates was launched: that for once Pirates defeated Rotten Tomatoes and the sum of negative critics (many good as well) expressed by many critics of big and small newsmagazines and realities in the entire territory of the USA.

Box office and Rotten Tomatoes became my biggest friends or enemies these latest years and every time a Johnny Depp’s movie out.

This time viewers didn’t listen anything or anyone.
They just went to the cinema for enjoying a moment of escapism and only God knows the necessity of some de-stressing moments considering the times we are living in.

More important has been the card played by Jerry Bruckheimer a real test on the viewers according to my point of view: “Without Johnny Depp no other Pirates will be realized!”
Producer Bruckheimer maybe said that words in fact also for trying to see if the solid base of Johnny’s fans and Pirates fans were still there waiting for him.

People trusted Johnny Depp and they went to the cinema, free again to adore their Jack Sparrow.

Fans never abandoned the saga, never abandoned their favorite characters, never abandoned the ideas of wild adventures with Jack Sparrow, the more educated William Turner, Captain Barbossa and the new entry: Captain Salazar.

Do you know why? Because dreams are priceless.

Congratulations, Into the Woods!

Into the Woods favorite choice from American families, Rotten Tomatoes, prestigious newsmagazines and critics this Christmas

Great and positive reviews for the appearance on theaters of Into the Woods.

The Boston Globe: “Into the Woods’ a fine adaptation of beloved Sondheim musical” The NYT doesn’t have doubts: “Into the Woods, the splendid Disney screen adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical, infuses new vitality into the tired marketing concept of entertainment for children of all ages“.

The Tomatometer of Rotten Tomatoes enchanting.

The website based on various and influential movie reviewers, in the critic consensus: “On the whole, this Disney adaptation of the Sondheim classic sits comfortably at the corner of Hollywood and Broadway — even if it darkens to its detriment in the final act“.

Audience score: 65%. Opening: 72% Into the Woods, 49% Unbroken, 71% Big Eyes, 47% The Gambler and 71% The Sniper.

Into the Woods is a patchwork for using an expression of the same James Lapine, librettist of Into the Woods and screenwriter of the movie, of various and different fairy-tales by Brothers  Grimm although altered, changed, modernized for our society and the problematics families and children can meet along their way and need to cope with.

Written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine 27 years ago, each character will search for something or for someone. Quests and wishes the main themes of these very diversified characters, living in this modern life.

Crucial the research and the discovery of the Happily Ever After.

What happens after a beautiful marriage to the couple? What happens after a good event to a person?

It’s this. A lucid analysis of the various characters and situations, re-written giving a new perspective, actual and modern to the various Cinderellas, Little Red Riding Hoods and so on.

The real world is lived by every character as a stressing place where to staying and where, anyway each character of the various beloved Brothers Grimm’s fairy-tales will search for something.  That something able to make the difference, able to make them happy in a way or in another.
