This one has been the wonderful and happy perception of the accredited critics and journalists after the vision of Into the Woods by Disney Studios this past week at the DGA New York Theater.

Rob Marshall, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski and James Lapine, later would have answered to the various questions of the journalists in a Q&A session very participated.

As we all know there is nothing more important than good reviews from the press regarding a movie.

Good critics can make the difference in fact and if a movie is appreciated by the media, generally will be loved by people.

Online magazines are reporting that Disney Studios can fight for candidate some of the actors to the Oscars. In pole position of course Meryl Streep  10665224_327170740789909_3120733398500960925_n in the role of the Witch, but Johnny Depp 1 as well in the category of Best Actor Non Protagonist for his role as the Lascivious Wolf. Disney can run for Best Movie and more as well. According many colleagues it is more than a possibility all of this because the movie is seriously, but seriously stunning.

The movie appears to be more meditative and darker in comparison with the original musical of Broadway according to the colleagues and their tweets after the vision but they all agreed thinking that Stephen Sondheim has been sublime.

Rob Marshall the director during the Q&A added why it was important to realize Into the Woods now. According to Marshall this one is an important fairy-tale for, in a way, remembering, not forgetting the trauma of the terroristic attacks at the World Trade Center sept 11th 2001 wtc wtc 2 wtc 3 wtc 4 wtc 5 .

Later Marshall focused on kids of today, different from the ones we have been. More technological, they need to cope with problems at time bigger than them.

“I called Lapine and Sondheim and asked them: “Could we do this?” said Marshall during the press conference.

Kids: “They live in a much more unstable and fragile world than the one where I grew up”.

The topic of loss is extremely important in the movie and Marshall says: “It’s that theme of loss and how you move forward that struck me”.

Into the Woods will explore what happens to people after the famous: Happily Every After.
Director Marshall: “It deals with life and moving forward. I really feel this is for kids and families of today”.

Into the Woods New Pictures

The Laviscious Wolf

A very convincing role this one of Johnny Depp normal_venice_2004_photocall_009 as the Laviscious Wolf in the cinematographical Disney Studios musical adaptation of the Broadway comedy created with great success by Stephen Sondheimsodheim  Into the Woods. Stephen Sondheim wrote Into the Woods in 1987. It is a musical written using the “broken fairy-tale” structure. In fact there is a big mixture, a wonderful miscellaneous of various different fairy-tales characters, all reunited together for creating a magical special and dangerous atmosphere for the poor baker and his wife.
As told before a baker, (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) without any possibility of having a baby because cursed by a horrible witch (Meryl Streep), will start a long trip “Into the Woods”, for trying to defeat this horrible creature. They will meet along their trip characters like Cinderella (Anna Kendrick) , Rapunzel, portrayed by MacKenzie Mauzy and many many more fairy-tales characters.

Rob Marshall the director admitted: “I didn’t want this to look like a cartoon world. We wanted a sense of danger“.

And danger is everywhere.

In the while Meryl Streep confessed days ago to Entertainment Weekly: “I’ve been offered many witches over the years, starting when I was 40, and I said no to all of them. But this was really fun because it played with the notion of what witches mean. They represented age and ugliness and scary powers we don’t understand. So here’s my opportunity to say: here’s what you wish for when you’re getting old“.

New pictures of Johnny Depp as the Sensual Laviscious Wolf in some moment during the filming of the movie and in an official one.

A great fantasy, a mix of various fairy-tales or better, a variety of characters taken by a lot of fairy-tales as it happens always more often in recent productions as we have seen from various years at this part.

An example for all?

Shrek, a big Dreamworks success where there was a melting pot of characters taken from various classic fairy-tales every kid I hope know.

In Into the Woods the various protagonists will be all united for helping the poor Baker and his wife fighting against the Witch, their common enemy. It’s in fact the story of a couple without children and a witch who cursed them once.

In technical term this one is a fractured fairy-tale for the reasons explained before.

The main actors and actresses will perform in the movie and their characters.

James Corden Image is the Baker, so the husband cursed with the Baker’s Wife Emily Blunt Image.

Of course there will be an enemy all together the good ones will have to defeat.

Disney has chosen the stunning Meryl Streep Image for the role of the Witch. Our Johnny Depp Image is the lascivious and seductive Wolf.

Anna Kendrick Image will perform Cinderella and Chris Pine Image Cinderella’s Prince.

Daniel Huttlestone is Jack and Image  Tracey Ullman Image  Jack’s mom. Rapunzel will be Mackenzie Mauzy Image, Billy Magnussen ImageRapunzel’s prince. Christine Baranski Imagethe Wicked Stepmother, Tammy Blanchard ImageLucinda, Lilla CrawfordImage Little Red Riding Hood, Richard Glover is the Steward, Frances de la TourImage the Giant, Simon Rusell Beale Imageis the baker’s father, Joanna Riding is Cinderella’s mom Imageand Annette CrosbieImage is Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother.

It was an age the studios were interested to releasing a movie based on this musical and more than 15 years ago a first script was written by Lowell Ganz and Babbaloo Mandel with a cast included Robin Williams Imageas the baker, Goldie HawnImage as the baker’s wife, CherImage as the Witch, Denny De VitoImage as the giant, Steve MartinImage in the role of the wolf, and Roseanne Barr Imageas Jack’s mother.
Although other attempts took place a film adaptation of Into the Wood remained in stand-by for more than 15 years.

The movie directed by Rob Marshall Imagehas been filmed at London’s Shepperton Studios in september 2013 and other filming locations in Uk involved Dover CastleImage, Waverley AbbeyImage, Richmond ParkImage Image.

Rob Marshall Imagewas hired in January 2012 for directing a new adaptation of lnto the Woods. Lapine wrote the script and Stephen Sodheim new songs.
